  1. Formulation

  1. Allocation of Raw Materials

Other components include important compounds that will play different roles, like binders, fillers, flow agents, and so on, and will vary depending on whether your finished product is a powder, capsule, or tablet.

  1. Pre-blending


Raw materials are typically provided in the form of fine powder and may not require any preliminary processing. Otherwise, the fine vitamin powder is combined with various cellulose particles, wetted, and dried in a dryer. The formula may be in fragments after drying. In this case, the powder will need to be milled to verify that it is of the proper size. To attain the ideal granule size, the mill forces them down a small hole.


  1. Weighing and Mixing


When the vitamin ingredients are complete, they are weighed on a scale. A formula batch record lists the required weights of each ingredient. After weighing, the ingredients are combined in a mixer for 15-30 minutes. Samples are then taken from various sides of the mixer and analyzed to check that all ingredients are distributed and proportioned evenly.


  1. Encapsulation


When the batch in the mixer has been approved, it is transferred to an encapsulating machine and placed in a bucket. A test batch is run through the encapsulating machine first to guarantee that the capsules are of consistent and effective weight.  


Based on the brand owner's specifications, the final vitamin mixture is compressed into tablets, perhaps with a coating, or encapsulated in preformed gelatin capsules. 


  1. Packaging and Labeling


Coated vitamin tablets are transmitted through a row of machines in the packaging area. The machine is scheduled to count the number of capsules or tablets necessary per bottle. 


The capsules or tablets are dropped into a bottle, which is then sealed, capped, labeled, and shrink-wrapped by the next machine. Each bottle is classified with the contents, preferred usage, and expiry date. These final product bottles are then placed in boxes and prepared for shipment.
